Metadata Editor (MP3/MP4 Tags)

Edit MP3/MP4 metadata: title, artist, album, year, genre, track, and cover art. Supports ID3v2, MP4 atoms, Vorbis comments. Paste link or search.

What is the Metadata Editor?

MP3stack lets you edit media tags—title, artist, album, year, genre, track/disc, and cover art—then export a clean copy. We support ID3v2 for MP3, MP4 atoms for M4A/MP4, and Vorbis comments for OGG/FLAC (when available).

Edits apply to the exported file you download; we don’t permanently store files. Use only for your own content or with permission.

Need to cut audio first? Try the Trim Audio tool. Want to combine audio/video? Use Merge Audio & Video. To add lyrics or captions, check the Subtitles Downloader.

How to use

  1. Paste a public audio/video link or search a title/artist, then press Search.
  2. Open Preview and go to the Metadata tab.
  3. Edit fields: Title, Artist, Album, Album Artist, Year/Date, Genre, Track/Disc, and replace cover art (when available).
  4. Choose output format (MP3/M4A/OGG/FLAC/MP4) and save.

FAQ

Which fields can I edit?
Title, Artist, Album, Album Artist, Year/Date, Genre, Track/Disc number, and cover art (when supported).
Will this overwrite my original file online?
No. Edits apply only to the exported copy you download.
ID3v2.3 or ID3v2.4—what should I pick?
v2.3 is safest for older devices (cars/stereos). v2.4 is fine for modern apps.
Why doesn’t my player show the new cover?
Many players cache artwork. Rename the file or clear cache and re-import.
Any size limits for artwork?
Large images may be resized for compatibility. JPEG is most widely supported.
Can I edit video tags (MP4)?
Yes, common fields like title/artist/album/cover in MP4 atoms are supported—reading depends on the player.
Can I normalise loudness?
ReplayGain/normalise tags can be stored; effect depends on the player.
How to fix weird characters in tags?
Use UTF-8/Unicode and ensure your player supports it. For legacy MP3, pick ID3v2.3 if necessary.
